Ok so I set the preferences for iTunes to move the Media from internal hdd to external drive, and I pointed the iTunes Media to the right fold on the external drive. I now have issues though the external drive

\\itunes drive\itunes\itunes media\Movies
\\itunes drive\itunes\itunes media\music

is where everything should reside, however all of my movies and music are being placed in the \\itunes drive\itunes\ root and I can not figure out how to get them in the \itunes media\ folder into their respective folders Movies and Music?

It seems that when I go back to the internal drive everything is fine in the

\\macintosh hd\music\itunes\itunes media\movies
\\macintosh hd\music\itunes\itunes media\music

I would stick to an internal HDD but I am about to go way beyond the 1TB drives that are sold now, and the Seagate 1.5TB drive is like twice as thick as my internal 750GB drive so that will not fit into my Mini.

I am using an external 2TB Seagate Go Flex and only itunes is on this disk.

Anyone have a clue why this stuff works while using the internal drive but not on the external drive, because now it is causing me to have doubles of everything?

When I moved mine it was a little different but with 10.5 you would.

1. Change the iTunes Media folder location to the root of the new drive names iTunes. Mine shows /Volumes/iTunes

2. Check keep iTunes organized check box

3. Go To File | Library | Organize Library, check the box consolidate files.

4. Click ok and wait
