Took some photos to check out my new 10.5 and did some close ups of flowers with bees buzzing around. When opening photos or scrolling through them the bees actually move and it’s almost like a very short video. Yes it was on photo. Anyone else tried it or noticed it? Just wondering how it happens seeing as they are still shots.

That's the Live Photo feature. It captures the action 1.5 seconds before and after you press the shutter, including audio!
Yes, even on still pictures!
I guess you still have the iPhone 6, as Live Photo is on iPhone 6+ and later.
It's a feature that is on by default. If you don't want that feature, you can turn it off by pressing the tri-circle icon on the camera app screen.
When you launch the camera app, find the Live Photo icon, which is made up of three concentric circles at the top of your screen. If the icon is yellow (or gold), Live Photos is currently turned on. To turn it off, simply tap on the icon. You can always turn it back on by following the same steps. It's one feature that's easy to quickly turn on or off.

Many thanks DeltaMac. Great to have such a simple and concise explanation. I’m still trying to get this older head around the new iPad and miss the “Instruction” book. I must admit I like the features gained in iOS 11, in particular the keyboard with the flicks.

Thanks again for the explanation.

As to the free, official iPad User Guide for iOS 11? Yes, it does exist, it's just not available in print... https://itunes.apple.com/us/book/ipad-user-guide-for-ios-11/id1263310093?mt=11

I would eventually expect to see the concept of "Live Photo" incorporated into "regular" cameras, at least up to the prosumer level (and perhaps even on the top models).

How many times during an action shot, concert performance, etc., has it been difficult to capture precisely "the right moment in time"?

With live photo running, you can just "backtrack" or "forward-track" a fraction of a second, and find that "better image" you originally were trying to save.

Ha ha ha I would need more than a fraction of a second to dig out a winner in my shots!!! :)
