I have ripped a few of my movies with Handbrake and used MetaX to add artwork and movie info. By default MetaX adds movie descriptions to the short info field. This worked fine when I connected to my Itunes on my Mac. I decided to build a Windows Home Server to host my movies and moved the movies over to the WHS. I lost the descriptions that were stored in the short description field. Any description that was in the long description field works.

Has anyone experienced this? Any workaround?

I have a HP MediaSmart serving up my encodes to my ATV. I just check by pulling a file into MetaX to see if both fields were still filled, and they were.

However, I noticed that the ATV only seems to use the Long Description field for the files info on playback.

What I found is if itunes is on a Mac the file ATV will display the short or long description field. If itunes is on a Windows machine the ATV will only display the long description field.
