First of all I want to thank everyone for all of the great information that this forum provides! It has helped me numerous times!

I have a question about movie files. I have an Apple TV that I have been using for the past 8 months. I have been ripping DVDs with the Handbreak software using the Apple TV settings. The movies look great.

I just purchased a 160GB iPod Classic. Now I want to sync my movie files with the iPod but unfortunately they will not upload through iTunes.

(1) Do I need to convert these files prior to syncing to the iPod?

(2) Do I need to keep two different files in iTunes (one for iPod & one for Apple TV)?

(3) If I need to convert, what is the best software to use?

Thanks again!
James

The :apple:TV default in Handbrake isn't compatable with the iPod, the video options aren't right. You could convert using Visual Hub. However, I suggest in the future, for simplicity, rip to an iPod compatable format straight from Handbrake, they can actually look really good on :apple:TV
