whenever i import a movie into itunes the file goes into the home folder->music->itunes->itunes music->movies. So my question is why are iTunes movies in the music folder and not the movies folder in finder? Is there a way to have that folder be in the home->movie folder? it seems weird to have all these movies on my computer and have the movies folder empty hah...

Probably because iTunes was originally just music only then expanded.

However, all files downloaded from iTunes will end up in your iTunes folder, which by default is in ~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music.

I guess you could move the itunes movies folder to be a sub-folder of your main Movies folder, then place an alias to it inside your iTunes Music folder.

If you change the itunes preferences to not copy a file when you add it the library you will be able to have the actual movie file any where you want on your harddrive
