Does anyone know why some movies I have play fine and the audio matches up, but when I re-encode the file the audio never matches up with the video? Ive tired it so many times with different software and different settings. Any ideas why?

It is a bit hard to figure out your challenge without more information.
Could you post the type of file you started with and details about it.
Which softwares you used to attempt a conversion and what final format did you try to obtain.
If you could go beyond this and render some details such as software settings etc. that should help anyone that would like to respond.
