Is there a movie player that can zoom, i want to watch movies, widescreen movies, on my tv, through my mac, but removing some of the black border by zooming, the standard dvd player doesn't, also have tried vlc media player..Can anyone suggest a movie player that plays a wide variety of formats, ie DVD, Avi etc.

Why would you want to remove the black border ?

You should always watch films in their original aspect ratio.

what mac are you using and how is it connected to the TV, if you video out is mirroring you computer screen you might be able to zoom in using universal access apple+alt8 to turn it on; apple+alt- to zoom in; apple+alt= to zoom out, you can the use your mouse to move the screen about.

Its not about loosing the aspect ratio but zooming slightly, not stretching it, i'm using emac with the svideo out adapter.
