Movie rental and purchase in UK - When?

Hi,
This has probably been asked already but when can we expect movie rentals and purchases to be available in the UK? I'd love to buy an Apple TV but until I can rent and buy movies I don't see the point!

Anyone know why we've not go this already?

Unfortunately nobody knows for sure. I have an Apple Tv and love it to bits but I would love to be able to buy stuff from the UK iTunes store without faffing around with these American iTunes vouchers off eBay. Get yourself a voucher off Ebay maybe to tide you over? I'd guess late autumn for UK movies and rentals, even then though, who's to say we will get the same content as the US store? We may only get a few studio's onboard

Steve Jobs said that we would have Movie and TV Shows on iTunes by the end of the year (I think I'm correct when I say that).

To me it seems that we won't get Movies until early 2009 but TV Shows seem to have filled up already, But you never know with 7 Months left we might get them and a price cut on ATV by christmas.

Just so you know it's up to the studios weather or not Apple can sell/rent movies out in UK & Europe.

Come on Apple get those studios to sell/rent on iTunes.
