now i live in australia and i have broadband (it is known that australia has slower internet than most places)....when i download something from safari it goes about 25 kb/s, which i called up my internet provider and they said that is just right....(i don't know much about internet)....when i download something from iTunes (podcast or something) it goes at about 170 kb/s......anyway, with my AppleTV streaming content from the internet takes forever....watching a movie trailer will take about 10 mins before it plays.....youtube is faster but still terribly slow.....does anyone have internet about this speed and have any problems>??? does anyone know how i could fix this because i have a friend who's movie trailers load perfectly and i think he is on the same internet plan as me, are there any settings i might need to change which could fix this?????.....please help...

i have...
iMac G5 (iSight)
AirPort Express (AirTunes)
AppleTV

i'm not sure if you need to know that but i'll put it there anyway.....

ps. i'm desperate!!!

Contact your ISP and ask them what is the speed of your connection. There are 8 bits in a byte, so if they say 25 kiloBYTES/s it means 200 kiloBITS/s. That is very slow compared to most broadband speeds today. If it is ADSL, the further you are away from the exchange, the slower your connection will be. Also, the number of people downloading in your area affects your connection speed.

If it's just the :apple:tv that has a slow connection, try connecting it with ethernet to your router. If it is still slow, maybe check your network settings on the :apple:tv
