Movie / video editor for PC?

Windows Movie Maker served just fine for my previous video source (Canon SD870 P&S)

But now I have the Canon SD880 in addition to the iPhone 3GS.

What's the go-to movie editor for PC for h264/.mov files?

I'm not sure what to search for. movie and editor bring up so many results. i figure there has to be a thread somewhere, thanks.

I'm pretty sure Premiere Elements can do it, but check with someone else first. I've never used it.
