Wow this has become one of my favorite apps now!

What's New:

-Full Netflix Support (Add,View,Manage DVD and Instant View Movies)
-Deeper Facebook Support (See what your friends have seen, want to see, etc)
-Integrated Movie Purchases! (Buy tickets to the movies in the movies app:p )
-Yelp Integration (Find restaurants nearby and whatnot)
-iTunes Movies Support (Buy/Rent movies from iTunes directly)
-Built in map to see the movie theaters around you

It's awesome folks! Go get it! It is free of course :):):)

yea i love this new update specially the netflix support.

It won't even let me log in to Netflix :( It highlights it but never brings up a logn page like for FB. Anyone else having this problem?

Edit: I emailed the dev and got this response in about 10 minutes. I love devs that actually get back to you :)

We are experiencing an issue with Netflix currently due to the large number of users attempting to login at once. *We are working with Netflix to get the issue resolved. *I will let you know when you can successfully login to Netflix.

Sincerely,

I still prefer Fandango.

fandango won't let you search by movie name. I think their app is totally half a**. it took them forever to finally allow you to make purchases with your Fandango acct in their own app! Movies totally beats Fandango :p

I have been trying Fandango and you can't even see the Top Box Office Movies... Deleted it right a way, what a waste of time. Movies
is hands down the best!!

Is this the same as the Flixster 3.0 that came out as well?

The app's called Flixster but on the icon it says "Movies". And reading your post it's looks just like Flixster

Thanks

Movies is great!

I used Showtimes and, while it wins at Best UI, it's a horrible piece of software. It didn't even show Adam as showing at a local cinema, when I know for a fact it was! It's also very unreliable, it crashed a lot and was generally full of bugs.

I have yet to have a problem with Movies.

Has any one "instantly watched movies" with this app yet? I've logged into netflix, loaded my queue, clicked on a movie I know is watch instantly, and I cannot find any option to watch it.
I don't have an instant queue though, since I don't have a registered xbox or roku box to get it. The way it is worded in this thread, it looks like you can do that.

But the way it is worded on iTunes it doesn't say that at all.

I don't believe you can actually watch the full movies from this app, you can only manage the netflix queues from the app.

x3 for Now Playing...have used it since its original release and still continue to use it to this day and will until the dev retires. :)

The Netflix support is buggy. For the movie Crash, the option to "Add to Netflix" doesn't even appear. Also, I haven't figured out how to search for Bluray movies.

I personally prefer [app]Now Playing[/app]

I have both installed and while Now Playing is nicer at certain things, Movies/Flixster has significantly better NetFlix management and larger movie database.

I have both installed as well, and not being a Netflix user myself, Now Playing offers the best UI for me when doing movie/theater research. I do like the Yelp! integration in Flixster though...finding restaurants around a new theater is a great option for planning a night out!
