I have a problem that I am trying to resolve. I have about 500 movies in my NAS, managed by iTunes.

I have a ATV on the big telly that is used for family viewing during the day, grown up viewing at night.

500+ movies won't fit on my ATV so I have only locally store the kids stuff (in a playlist called..... KIDS)

I use the Sort tags to sort movies into letter (A, B, C... etc you get the idea) and into playlists (KIDS, Horror, Comedy, Drama etc)

Now, my kids are starting to use the ATV themselves and here is my problem.

When you go into the playlist KIDS, you see the grouped sort letters. You go into A and see all films I have tagged as A. When I turn off iTunes, you get all films tagged A, from playlist KIDS.

When iTunes is running, you can see all films tagged A regardless of playlist.
As I am fairly anal, all my movies are fully tagged with cover art. Some movies (especially horror) can have gruesome cover art and I don't want these film to be seen in with Finding Nemo !!!! I want to see on KIDS films in the KIDS playlist. Why do I see all films in the KIDS playlist?

So, am I doing something wrong in my organisation of movies?
Is this supposed to happen?

I apologise if this is a simple answer. I have searched google, forums etc but can't find an answer.... I may not be searching for the right thing mind. It is hard to express in a one line question.

Can anyone help me please?

Bump...

37 viewings but not a single comment?

Maybe I didn't express my problem clearly. I can see movies appearing in playlists that they are not part of... why is this????

I have been looking again today and I still can't find anything that helps resolve this (or even shows it happening) so it must be a 'standard' feature.

HELP !!!!!

I have no experience with the playlists or the letters, as you were mentioning, but you could try changing the metadata for all your kids movies. If under "Video" in the field "Show" for all of your kids movies was something like, I don't know, "Kids' Movies" then those movies and only those movies would be in their own sub menu. I have only done it for a handful of movies at a time, but it should work for larger groups too.
