Hi,

Got a 160Gb ATV, syncing to imac 24" with 200 movies on external 1Tb drive. ATV hard plumbed to Time capsule for network. Imac wireless N to the Time capsule. When watching streamed movie, after 10 mins or so, it starts to stutter and pause, a few more minutes it just locks up. Seems to do this with 1Gb or 3Gb films. Noticed it happens when Time machine is running on iMac, but also seems to happen when Atv and iTunes are syncing and seemingly when nothing else is happening on network. Anyone noticed this, cos it sucks for watching movies ?

cheers

Try a reset of your ATV, either pull the power, or Menu and down arrow for 3 seconds.

Other than that, the way you encode the movie makes a difference, as does the bandwidth on the network, which may be adversely affected by interference (I get interference from another wireless network at home, even though it is on a different channel, yes 3 channels away).

Cheers, Ed.

My ATV is totally unusable when its syncing with iTunes. And both my iMac and my ATV are hardwired to my router.
