Hi,

yesterday my movie library was working just fine with my Apple TV. But today I was looking at the list and many of my movies are grayed-out and iTunes tells me that I can't sync this movies to my Apple TV because they cannot be played there.

Did this happen to anybody else? What does iTunes check for when it decides what to sync and what not?

Unplug the Apple TV power cord and plug it back in, which should reset the Apple TV. Also restart the computer. That should fix it.

I had a similar problem yesterday--movies are streamed from an external HD connected to my Time Capsule and though they weren't grayed out, when I tried to play, my ATV said it couldn't play them because they weren't a compatible format (or something to that effect). I just restarted iTunes, resynced the ATV and was good to go.

Mine seems to do that when the computer gets too busy to pay enough attention to the Apple Tv. If i'm downloading something to it, transferring files, even a virus scan, can get it to error out.

Quit the extra processes, and/or a restart and you'll be good to go.
