moving back from Android - confused.. need help

got my 6S plus,
and just need some crucial tips on what to do now:

i HAD an Apple ID 3 years ago, but then switched to Android and forgot all about it.

so, now, what's my next few steps to activate with my old ID and Email?

i DON'T want any of my old Apple stuff, just to do a fresh "move to IOS" with my Android.

should i make a new fresh ID?

can i do it without Itunes?


i little confused and eager to activate!
please help my poor soul!

You don't need an Apple ID. You don't need a new Apple ID. You can skip the Apple ID part when setting your new phone up.

That said, if you WANT to download apps you WILL need an Apple ID. Otherwise you can just use your phone as a phone.

If you decide to use an Apple ID you can use your old one (if Apple has not closed it). Using your old Apple ID will not all of a sudden cause old data to appear on your phone. Only a restore from an iCloud backup, purposely initiated by you, will cause that.

Any new backups to iCloud under the old Apple ID will contain only your new info.

It's up to you how you want to use the device - but you don't NEED any of this to activate it.

currently moving my **** to IOS.
seems all goes well.
i just don't even want ITunes on my pc.
wanna try doing it all via Wifi.

There are things that require iTunes. If you want to add ringtones, videos (movies, tv shows), music, etc - all of that needs to be synced from iTunes to be loaded on to your device.

Now, there is an option in iTunes for WiFi syncing, but it still requires iTunes to be on your computer.

There are various other routes that open to you if you jailbreak (and right now the time envelope for jailbreaking is short) but jailbreaking is not for everyone.

But again, if you stay stock then sooner or later you are going to need iTunes. iCloud backup is only 5GB free, by the way. So if you store a lot of stuff on your device you may blow through that quickly.

i don't use ringtones,
i stream or YouTube any videos,
and i do the same for music..

about backup, that may be something i need to consider.
i'll decide to invest some money either on Icloud or Dropbox or whatever..

anything else that might force me to go Itunes?

Other than that…no, not really. I could see iBooks (PDFs), particularly if you are a reader and have a large collection of eBooks. But it's easy to load a PDF on iOS and send it to iBooks so there's not so much attachment there.

But if you want to backup other than to iCloud it's iTunes only. iOS makes zero provision to back up anywhere other than iCloud or iTunes.

Only iCloud or iTunes can restore an iPhone from backup. That's why.
