Hi, I have my windows on Bootcamp on an external HDD on my 5.1. My 5.1 just died, how can I use that HDD to boot into windows on my 6.1? I tried plugging it in, it mounts, but it does not recognize it as a boot disk. Is there any way I can just use my old HDD for Bootcamp without going through all the installation again?

Thanks.

AFAIK, you can only have BootCamp with Thunderbolt devices with MP6,1. BootCamp can't work via USB.

Back with the MP5,1 you could use an eSATA connection with BootCamp, that won't a work with late-2013 Mac Pro.

I see, I'll try plugging it into my TB casing later on to try. will report back later...

MP5,1 BootCamp is a legacy mode Windows install (MBR/CSM), I'm not sure and someone should correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that MP6,1 requires UEFI Windows installs (GPT/UEFI).
