Hi there,

I currently have an iMac running up to date Sierra and most of my files are stored on iCloud Documents and Desktop. My desktop computer always keeps a copy of all my files locally. I also have a laptop that mostly manages its own Documents and Desktop storage. My systems are also backed up to a local TimeMachine. I have thunderbolt cables and ports on everything.

I have purchased a new Mac Pro and will be moving my world from the iMac to the Mac Pro. With hundreds of GBs stored on iCloud Documents and Desktop, is there a way that I can move from one to the other without having to either:
  • Download everything from iCloud over the internet to my new mac, or
  • Upload the newly copied files from my new mac and then let my laptop resync to the new versions.
I hope that makes sense. I'm hopeful that the answer is straight forward and part of Apple's design but I'd just like to check first.

Cheers,

Patrick
