Looking for some help on how to move my photos location please. Windows 10 with the iCloud Sync app installed.

Up until earlier today I had a folder called D:\........\iCloud Photos\Downloads - all of my photos were automatically downloaded and locally stored in this folder.

I update iCloud today, to I think v12.3, and now that folder has been renamed Downloads.old and it has created a new folder at C:\Users\User\iCloudPhotos

I don't want it there, I want it on my D drive. The old version of iCloud allowed me to change the path of this folder, but the new one doesn't. Is there any way to move this folder now?

Also another big difference is that it doesn't automatically download the photos, just shows thumbnails with the Cloud icon next to them, if I try and open a photo it then downloads it.

Cheers for any ideas!

I have the same. Did you resolve? All I have found is really complicated involving junctions and not really doing what I wanted.

@Bernmeister no I’m afraid I never found a solution and haven’t looked in to it again, I really should try again at some point. I’ll update this thread if I ever find a fix.
