Hi. I've been backing up my iPhone via iTunes to an external hard drive (Drive A) for a couple years. I bought a new hard drive (Drive B), copied the Backup folder to it, but can't create a symlink. Using the basic method from iMore (and other sites)

ln -s /Volumes/External/ios_backup ~/Library/Application\ Support/MobileSync/Backup/

In my home folder application support, there's an alias from the original symlink. Ive tried this so many different ways, deleting that folder (someone on another thread mentioned didn't need it) but nothing works.

I must be doing something wrong. I've tried it with and without Drive A mounted, thinking that might make a difference.

Thanks for the help.
