How do I move my music collection from my external drive to my new laptop? It appears as if each artist is kept in an individual folder on the external drive.

Just drag and drop the files into the iTunes window

Enable 'copy files to iTunes Media Folder' option first and they will be copied locally

You simply copy and paste the iTunes Media folder to the new laptop, and then point iTunes to it upon launch.

In fact, you can leave it on an external drive or sd card, or move it from pc to pc, doesn't matter.
