Moving iTunes library from windows pc?

Hello all, this is my first post here on the forum, I'm purchasing an 11'' ultimate MBA on monday and can't wait!

As it stands I have a windows pc that I hate with about 25 gb of iTunes content that I want to transfer to the MBA. I was just wondering what would be the best way to do it? I was thinking of buying a 32gb flash drive and doin it that way but would I have issues with the format of the drive going from windows to mac?

I'm sorry if it has been covered before, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was kind of in the same sittuation a month ago. You should format the disk on windows and put the files onto the flash drive. (macs can read but not write ntfs drives,but windows cant do anything with macs drives). After that just copy the files to your mac and enjoy. Ps. If you format it to FATthen macs and pc:s can read and write. Oh and remember to autorize you new itunes on the mac. Sorry for the tupos i wrote this on my phone

If you format your Flash Drive as ExFAT, both Windows Vista/7 (or XP with a downloaded driver) and Mac OS X will be able to read and write to it. ExFAT is essentially FAT64 and was specifically designed for flash drives. It is better than FAT32 (which is really slow on flash drives).

Remember to de-authorize your iTunes account on your Windows PC if you are planning to get rid of it. That way you can preserve your 5 computer limit on iTunes.

I'd recommend consolidating your library on the PC before copying the iTunes folder over. That'll gather any stray songs that are in the library but not in the iTunes folder back to the iTunes folder.
