Hi.. I can't be the only one ever to have a 400GB Lightroom folder with the catalog and RAW and side car files on an external drive formatted NFTS . I took the drive out of the computer and put it into a USB drive enclosure. I then took another drive, formatted it using my mac to extended journaled. I then called Apple to ask if there was something I needed to do to copy these files over. They were stymied. While they put me on hold numerous times I figured I would just try to copy the folder over. The Apple care person got back on the phone and said he wasn't sure if it would work. I know others have used PC's with large catalogs that went Mac.. How did they do it? It has been copying for the last 2 hours. I haven't tried to import the new folder into lightroom. I have 2 other drives, each 1TB full of home video's. I will buy a new 1TB drive and repeat the process as above if this way works. Am I missing something?

Since OSX can read NTFS natively, you should be able to also copy from an NTFS formatted disk to an HFS+ formatted disk.

Mike.. Thanks for the response. The copy process was painless. In the process right now of tryng to get them to work in Lightroom on the mac. I used "add", leave them in current location (which is on an external drive formatted HFS+).
