I have a refurb 12 that I just found out has a non-functional NFC. Looking to see what the vendor would do, but they may simply send another one out (and I guess I return mine). I spent a LOT of time and went through some hassle to load MY ripped music onto it. It's about 31G worth on my phone. I DO know that the iCloud backup does NOT backup such files. Is there a way to get said music onto another iPhone (think I saw an offer to go phone to phone rather than icloud)? What other ways might be used to accomplish this? Oh, while my mobiles are all up to date in iOS, my desktop is an old 2010 cMP stuck on HS because I have a GTX 980 in it. I actually had to copy the music to a FAT partition to get it onto the 12 because iTunes in win10 was the only way to GET it onto the phone. Oh, the 30G is just a subset of my ~80G overall library of ripped music.

iMazing and similar applications can help you backup music files from your iPhone to your Mac or PC. They are all paid however, and are generally not that cheap. I use iMazing and bought it under a steep discount.

Can't really afford to spend money (not all that upset by a non-functioning NFC chip in my current phone), but someone said to me that I can hook both phones to my win10 side and copy them phone to phone that way. Can I get a confirmation that would work?

For music it won’t work. The most “win10 side copy” thing can do is copying photos and videos.
3uTools might also work and free but it’s a Chinese app, so be cautious if you want to use it.

Music can be synced to an iPhone, but not from it. And syncing to a different computer, removes any music synced prior.

So, presumably, somewhere out there is “the computer” with 31GB of music that you last synced. You’re gonna need that computer again.

If that computer (or the data on it) no longer exists… you get to start over. This time you’ll be aware that copying music to an iPhone doesn’t mean you can get rid of it from your computer, so hopefully you won’t run into this issue again.

I tell ya, back in the OS9 days everything worked exactly as you'd expect. Being stubborn, I tired the hook 2 phones to iToonz win10. Of COURSE I can not copy a music file from one phone to another. The purpose of this restriction eludes me... just to be mean occurred to me!

I was trying to make the effort because the 32G on my current phone is heavily curated, a process I don't want to go through again. The ONLY salvation is in hooking both phones in, using my current one as a guide, then doing an add to device from my full 80G library. Not to mention that Woot seems to not know if they can actually supply a replacement right now. That's not that much if an issue as I can llve w/o NFC capabilities, I'm so used to using my cards for it.

Dual boot really pays off for me!

For programs knowing how to read data from iPhone iTunes library, music can be copied from iPhone to a computer. It would not sync the music, but at least files put on it can be exported and backed up.

Sure, there are ways. “Officially” it’s one way though.
