Moving my user folder to hdd

Hello,

I recently made an Accelsior e2 my boot drive and I want to move my user folder to a 2TB Seagate Fusion drive. I read how to do it and it seems fairly simple. However, I do a lot of video editing/motion graphics and I prefer to have my current projects in folders on the desktop (the projects seem to run faster from the Accelsior) and I was wondering if there is a way to move my user folder to the fusion drive but keep my desktop on the boot drive? Or is there a better way to go about this?

I guess it could be done with sym links or hard links (can't remember which ATM), but if I were in your shoes, I'd just put the project files into a folder on the Accelsior and put an alias to that folder on the desktop. That's more transparent in my eyes.

I have a similar setup but it is better to do the sym links and only put the folders that you specifically want for storage on your hard drive. A link that explains how to do it.
