Moving to mac, what about itunes/iphone?

I should be getting my imac today and am currently using a PC.

What am i supposed to do about my iphone? My library, apps, podcasts etc are in itunes. I don't mind losing my library, im transfering my music over to the new mac so i can re populate the music.

Will my apps and stuff transfer over when i plug my phone into the mac?

I've also heard about deauthorizing my account. What is this and do i need to do it?

Any advice to help the transfer would be appreciated.

I plug my iphone into my mac and itunes just freezes up with a multi coloured circle spinning around.

What does this mean? What should i do?

That multi-colored spinning thing is referred to as the Beachball or Pinwheel. You will learn to hate it. It indicated a hang (freeze) in an application. Usually the app will recover but sometimes you must force quit the app (CMD+Option+Esc).
