Moving videos back and forth to a Mac (to save space)?

I need to get the battery changed on a 128GB device: I'll be using a 64 GB one while it stays at the service. I thought about moving some large personal videos to a Mac to save space for the move.

Will moving photos/videos back and forth to a Mac "break" stuff? Like the photo/video metadata, chronological ordering and such?

If you are using iCloud, turn on iCloud Photos and Optimize Phone Storage. That will free up the space and it will be accessible on all your devices.

Thanks for the tip but I'm not using iCloud.

I better test this myself with a couple of video files and report the result here.
