MP 1.1 efi updater where to find + Tiemo questions.

I blame it on the summerflue, but I cant seem to find the netkas efi 1.1-to-2.1 updater. Does anyone happen to know where one could dowload it from?
Would be interested to get the X5365s.


Other question is that I am preparing to install Maverics to the MP 1.1 (with gtx570) as well.

Been reading the threads and..well..I blame it on the summerflue again.. but :

A : Is the Tiemos version the most straightforward & easiest?

B : If I use the Tiemos updater, can I download the maverics via appstore and install it that way or do I have to use USB thumb drive?

C : And do I need to actually use a USB thumb drive or can I use any HFS+ formatted USB or Firewire hard drive




Again, apologies if I come across a bit thick.. Just that I have been reading several 50+ pages threads and the amount of contradicting & dated info is ginormous.. Just wanted to make sure I dont cock up my system.

2. Yes it is dead simple.

3. Only if you have a compatible mac. I used my 2009 MBP. Otherwise you'll have to get a copy of Mavericks from a less reputable site...

4. 8gb USB drives can be had for $5. I bought one specifically for this so I never have to make a new one if I need to reinstall. With that said, any drive as long as it has 6GB+ storage...

I am still stuck with the netkas file. I read through that thread now the
third time and still did not find the link where to download the updater
file. Checked the website as well and tried to use my google-fu...no luck.
Wonder if the file has been removed or am I just so frigging blind that I
cant spot it..


I also found the SFOTT program, seems to be straightforward program
based on (?) Tiamos code. Is that better<->worse than the original, any
idea?


And I think I´ll get a 8gb memory stick tomorrow and do the bootdrive
witht the help of my macbook. Just downloaded the maverics and it
is ready to be transferred.

I can't help you much. I did the update on my Mac Pro 1,1 like 2 years ago. Can't remember where or how anymore....

Yes use Sfott. That's what I used. Compared to setting up your Mac Pro as a hackintosh (which was the method for mt lion), this is so much easier. Took me all of 2 tries to get it right. If it wasn't for a bad hard drive it would have been done a lot quicker.

Good call on the USB stick. Like I said I bought one specifically to be my Mac Pro 1,1 Maverick installer.

You have to register to see the download link (I guess this was mentioned in the main MacPro 1,1/2,1 Mavericks thread. It would reduce clutter if you'd post there.)

I have had no trouble at all with a 1,1 and 10.9.3 using a 7950. Perfect combo of boot screens and driver support. There is a guy who wrote a script that replaces boot.efi file at every reboot.

As far as the guy who thought up boot.efi fix in the first place, if you post in any of his threads, you might want to go to the effort to spell his name right.
