Long time ago i bought this card, but i never came around to installing it.

And now i wanted to install it, because i just made a small overhaul to my Mac-Pro 5.1.

However, when i watch the video of the Upgrade Guru himself:
Video on Youtube, for the installation.

I suddenly became aware of the fact that some parts are missing, like the cable for the Bluetooth antenna and some data-cable that i dont know about.

If these cables are missing, i guess there is no chance to hook up this card right?
Or is there different cards, and this one does not need those cables that he is using?

If anyone have the insights on this i would be super happy to get some more knowledge here so that i can keep uppgrading this machine.

Thanks!

This adapter is not for a Mac Pro, no USB D+ and D- header.

MacPro5,1 adapters have a header for the Bluetooth controller USB signals, since Apple didn't route USB to the mini-PCIe connector back when they designed the MacPro4,1/5,1 backplane.

Another thing, this card is not so much better than the factory one, it's also a 802.11n, with BT4.0, probably from an iMac 2012.

Anyway, with this current adapter, only Wi-Fi will work.

Wow, Thanks Alex!

I ordered this adapter long time ago. But maybe i have to order new one.

Reason for upgrade is just because i have it, i might get urge at some time to run those fancy features that req. BT4.

I cant find the adapter board on aliexpress or ebay, and there is onlyu 120 USD kits for sale.

Anyone have suggestion for where to find the adapter board with the cables and antenna connector?

Thanks again Alex, right on the spot as always!
