Im looking for a free program to simply edit the length and begining of MP3s so I can use them as phone ringtones... Actually, I guess since im looking for something free its not really buying.. o well.. any recomendations?

Admittedly it is not free (costs $30) but it does allow you to clip and paste sections together. I took Madness' "One Step Beyond" clipped the beginning and pasted it to a section later in the song.
Saved it with a lower bit rate (to save file space) and sent it to my Razr. If you are just going to clip continuous sections then it is probably better to just do it with iTunes.
