I imported my mp3 files into iTunes
and noticed after I imported them they are all over the place even though it is a complete album.

I modified them with "get info" in iTunes.
Everything seemed to work great.

My girlfriend the other day deleted the files. :(
So, today I re-imported them into iTunes and it didn't save my updates. They are all over the place again.

How do you modify the files on the HDD? If you do "get info" it just lets me modify the name but not the album or anything else.

Thank you.

Re:

Doesn't work.

It doesn't save the changes.

Try modifying the file in iTunes, then clear the file from iTunes and reimport it in to iTunes.

It won't save the changes.

you're reimporting from a cd?

if that's the case, it's getting the names from cddb... so, you could change the names when you put the cd in, and then submit that to cddb... either way, it'll probably stay changed everytime you put the cd in if you change them from itunes, on the cd...

Select the songs in iTunes
Select Convert ID3 Tags and convert them to the newest (2.4)

That should "lock in" the changes.
I don't think iTunes will save changes to mp3's with older ID3 tags.
