Hey folks,

is there a way to control brightness with F1+F2?

I connected the USB of my Cinema Display and made the settings in the monitor tab of my system settings, but hitting F1 or 2 results in a "forbidden" sign.

Found some old kexts on the net but they are from 2015 - don't want to destroy my system installing too old kexts extracted from high Sierra or so...

thanks for your help,

George

It should work.

Is the USB cable from the monitor plugged directly into the MacPro or is it going into a pair usb card?

Believe above meant to say USB direct on computer NOT PCIe USB card.

Don’t install those kexts for monitor, it’s supposed to work natively in Mojave. There are some brightness control issues with Catalina and 27” ACD so far, but usually just “slow” to control vs unable. Must be connected directly and A/B switch does not work.

dont know what happened: but it works now. usb cable was connected to a build-in usb port all the time. maybe one of the former reboots did the job...

thanks four you replies anyway.
