Hey guys, wondering if there is a way to use a mp5,1 and the Apple Pro Display XDR @ 6K 60Hz, I would assume that there might be a way to do it without needing to boot on windo

Why would you bother?
Plus it’s TB3, so not compatible.
Wouldn’t you rather spend the same money on a 2019 macpro.

I do have a NcMP 2019 and am using an LG UltraFine display with USB-C input. I am also using an RX5700XT video card with a DP output. With this cable:

I am able to successfully use the monitor @ 60Hz. I do not, however, have a boot screen.

No reason why it should not work on a cMP 5,1.

If that cable works why can’t you run an eGPU on a cMP?
edit: I was talking nonsense.

The xdr probably won’t work at 6k though.... ?
It also needs Catalina.

^^^^Running an eGPU sort of defeats the purpose of the cMP's modular design.

I really didn’t think you could connect a TB3 monitor to a cMP (the xdr specs say 2019mp with TB3) so this is interesting.... ?
