Hi all,
This is my first post. I just got my first Mac in the form of a 15" Macbook Pro and I'm loving it so far. I was definitely nervous about switching but the fact that I can install windows pushed me over.
Anyway, the issue I have is that the keyboard is raised on the left side such that it seems as if there is a subtle hump running parallel to the speaker grill between tab-caps lock-shift and q-a-z keys. The result is that tab through fn keys are raised about 2mm above speaker grill. The right side of the keyboard is raised somewhat but not as much. Also, there are 2mm gaps between some keys and others are physically touching across the board.
I don't expect the keys to have perfect alignment in between them, but am concerned about the raised keys. I will haul this around a fair amount as I am a student and soon to be Army officer. I don't want a scratched screen on this investment.
Is the keyboard supposed to be flush or are they all raised slightly? I can't figure out how much play there is with lid shut. I have Applecare and there is an Apple store near the Pentagon (DC rules) but I have a broken big toe
and I don't feel like hobbling over there at the moment. If it's abnormal can they fix it at the store?
Thanks!
