I have had my macbook for a little over a month and now I notice that the left side of my screen sits a little higher than the right side when the laptop is closed. I keep my laptop inside of an incase laptop sleeve (padded) inside of a padded laptop bag. I really handle my laptop really well, being careful about scratches, sudden movements, keeping it away from liquids... I've never dropped it nor mistreated it. Is the monitor made of tin foil or something?! Or does apple always make such fragile products. (ie ipod's scratch prone face)

I believe it has been a long time design flaw with PowerBook's and MBPs. My PB has it and my MBP did.

I wouldn't. I don't think there is anything they can do about it. How far up is it from the main computer. A couple of mm, or more? If its just a few mm off of the case, then you should be fine.

I think you should send it in to Apple, if nothing else to show them that they should do something about this issue. I've had units that were perfectly flat and straight, but the majority seem to be bent.

Actually, I think it has something to do with how they are attached to the main unit. The one that have been straight have had more of a gap in the back the laptop too, resulting in less upward pressure/pull in the front. I think that when there is a lot of upward pressure and pull (the more the display pops up when you press the release button), the bezel bends where there are no latches = the corners.

Anyway, it's quite ridiculous that after several years Apple has not addressed this...

Don't send it in, they will NOT fix it. I've tried to get them to fix the uneven display when latched and they sent me back my Macbook in the same condition.

It's just something you will have to deal with right now =/
