MS Office alternative?

pages will get the simplest job done, but am looking at an alternative app that is comparable with ms office. any suggestions, please?

LibreOffice offers an excellent degree of compatibility with Word, Excel and Powerpoint.

Just a tip. Go into the Preferences and change the default save options. You can have it save in DOCX, XLSX and PPTX by default rather than open office formats. Choose the (2007-20XX) options.

There's no iOS version of LibreOffice, which I assume is what this poster is looking for.

Is there a reason you don't want to use the native Microsoft Office apps?

My mistake. I was looking through the new posts view and didn't notice this was iOS related.

If the Op is adventurous they can try Office 700. Seeing if it is a good port of Open Office. Google Docs, Sheets and Slides are quite popular.

ABI word for Mac could be an alternative. Haven't used it in years but it was a decent replacement for Word in a pinch as I recall.

This thread is in the iOS apps sub-forum. Is there an iOS version of ABI Word?

Yeah. Not sure if it is in Apple store but I’m sure there is a Mac OS version somewhere. Please due your due diligence before downloading as I’ve not got any recent experience to refer to. It was very similar to Word and free.

WPS is quite good, and free.

I really would overlook the works suite. Pages is really an underrated word processor. Keynote really kills Powerpoint ( from a person who had to extensively use both). Numbers is usable but probably not for an Excell guru. They all convert to MS files as needed.
The other alternative is Google Docs, Sheets & Slides. The docs & Sheets apps are pretty good. Slides is pretty useless but the other two are fairly good.
