Whenever I boot into Win XP, via boot camp and after running Leopard, I frequently have issues with MS Outlook; specifically clicking on a link in an email to go to a website causes Outlook to stop responding.

Has anyone experienced this problem?

Interesting... you boot natively into XP and have this problem?
Have you checked all of your network and internet settings?
Do they somehow change when you change OS?

Yes, it's really weird; I found out that MS office doesn't play nicely if you try to run it via Fusion then try to run it natively, or vice versa (it says the hardware has changed and you need to insert the install disk) so I don't even touch it in Fusion. My issue is that, after booting into XP natively, after having used OS X, it seems that Outlook behaves fine except for clicking on a hyperlink in the body of an email, it causes the program to stop responding.

To your point, I have checked the settings and all I found one time was a security setting was set to 'restricted' instead of 'internet' (the only 2 options) so I changed it to internet and Outlook seemed fine, even after restarting the iMac several times into XP, until the next time I returned to XP after using OS X.

So, I checked the same setting and it was still 'internet' but I was having the same issue:confused:. I then looked at some other settings, didn't really change anything, clicked apply and Voila! it was fine..

It almost seems like the act of looking at the settings then exiting somehow resets something; I'm completely stumped....

The only other thing I can think of is that it may have something to do with Norton Internet Security 2009 (when in doubt, I usually blame NIS, cause it seems like it randomly changes settings after updates are applied ).

Well, it happened again last night.

I was using Leopard then booted into Win XP and when my wife went to check her email, she clicked on a link (to Facebook) and Boom! everything froze.

I rebooted, went into the security settings in Outlook, changed the internet security setting from medium to medium low, saved, and when I clicked on the Facebook link, Explorer opened and took me to Facebook....

It's all very odd, perhaps it's because I'm still using Office XP (Outlook 2002)? I'm thinking about switching to Thunderbird, just to avoid the problem; it wouldn't be so bad if the link didn't work but it causes everything to freeze.
