MSI GeForce GTX 770 Lightning and Mac pro 2008

Hello everyone.
I´ve found this gpu, I´m thinking to buy to mac pro 2008. The card has two connectors with 8 pins but the card bring two adaptors from 6 pins to 8 pins.
What do you think about it?, Works with the two connectors with 6 pines from mac pro 2008 like I see in this review ?

Hi Manware. Try to check out the TDP of the card that it should not exceed 225w max as the Mac Pro may not be able to handle the power of the card. The card has two 8 pin connector that may mean it may draw a lot of power though some cards are designed to be power efficient.

Thank you Macsonic for your reply, I´m going to check the tcp of the card. May Be the gpu needs more power watts than the mac pro have.

Unfortunately the overclocked versions could peak higher, in their tests they managed to squeeze 270w out of the Lightning: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/MSI/GTX_770_Lightning/24.html

To be safe I would choose a less hungry, more sensible card like this Asus:

I think the power supply of the 2008 Mac Pro is 980 watts. What's different compared to the PSU of the 2010 Mac Pro could be the hardware architecture. The 2010 Mac Pro is also 980 watts if I am not mistaken.

Hello everyone.
Some days ago I put a GTX 770 in my mac pro 2008. The gpu looks well and work much better in mountain lion than mavericks. It´s not a "flashed" version, is a pc card.
Adobe CS6 isn´t friendly with 770 but you can modified list about GPU compatibility of Premiere and AF to use this card with CUDA enable.

PD: I have not managed CUDA enable in Adobe Media Encoder Cs6.
