hi, I have a msi gfx 760 gpu and I would like to use it as replacement for my sapphire rx560 in my cMP 5,1 (running monterey 12.6.3 via oclp 0.61).
so I made a test and plugged the gfx 760, but I only get a black screen … is there anything that I could try or check? it might be a driver thing or should it run ootb?

if it matters - the graphic card was previously used in a hackintosh.

NVIDIA Kepler GPUs are supported by Apple up to Big Sur. OCLP hacks the Big Sur Kepler drivers to make it work with Monterey, this have a series of little problems, are you sure that you want to go from a fully supported GPU to a hacked one? Another thing, GTX 760 have 2GB of VRAM while most RX 560 have 4GB.

Anyway, you should test this card with a clean install of Mojave to be sure that it works with a supported macOS release. If your GTX 760 works, then do a clean install of Monterey with OCLP, it's the easier way to have the root patches needed for a Kepler GPU installed when you have a Monterey unsupported GPU.

Maybe you can get away of a reinstall if you install the OCLP root patches via screen-sharing.

thanks a lot for your feedback.

no iam not sure and thanks for the hint.
I use the rx560 card with 3 monitors and sometimes one of the monitors will be black after wake up from sleep or after reboot. I also noticed that the rx560 is quite picky when connecting the monitors
(2 dells and eizo ). they need to be connected in a specific order otherwise one or two will be black…
a friend already pointed out that this might happen because of the wrong driver and that flashing it might help…wich driver needs to be flashed in order to work with monterey?

Won't change anything flashing the GPU, besides that is nice to have pre-boot configuration support.
