MSN Messenger is basically the only Micro$oft app I use regularly but it's lightyears away from MSN 6 for Windows. Why is this? They manage to make Mac Office relatively the same as the Windows version but not the same for MSN Messenger or Windows Media Player for that matter. Could anyone tell me if that Microsoft Mac support thing is over?

It's all about the $$.
They make good money from Office on a Mac.
They get good coverage by porting to a Mac.
They basically dominate the office world by porting to the Mac.

How much money did M$ Messenger cost you?

If it was free, then what incentive do they have to support and develop it for the Mac. The only reason I can see that they made a messenger for the Mac was to compete with AOL IM for the Mac.

As for me, I'm not into the instant messenger world. I get out and see my friends, write them letters (sent via snails), and call them from time to time.

If I’m on my computer I’m working. This printed, we did try to use a number of IM services at work. They only got use during conference calls.

Write M$. I can’t find a specific email address yet, but the more people complain the more likely it is that M$ will do something about the problem. (Sorry, in the engineering world problems = opportunities. Opportunities = money) It’s all I can suggest. Venting is good, but doing something about it is better.

clearly if MS updated their messenger they'd loose money. Because they now own VPC. And you can run MSN Messenger 6 in VPC (I think).
