Hello everyone. I am using a graphite clamshell ibook running on OS 9.2.2. I know that practically everyone here is on OSX. Well, I will be there soon.
Anyway, I was just wondering why I couldn’t log into MSN chat. I have been trying it for days, and they kept telling me that my log in name and password is wrong. I also have been reinstalling it to no avail. Is MSN directly linked to IE as I did remember deleting some temporary files like cookies from it. However, I also did reinstall IE.
This is extremely frustrating.
Thanks.

Sorry that this is not the answer, in Fact, I've been having the same problem in Both systems, Mac OS 9.2.2 and in Mac Os X (Panther) since Friday night. I have also a couple of friends with the same problem in both Os. Hope you can help me and Fadedsequin...
Thanks

Do you think they stop supporting 9.2.2? But then again, that is highly impossible. My friend is doing all right with panther....sheesh..what is going on. I need to log in asap. anyone?

If I hadn't deleted OS 9 a couple of days ago, I'd try it for you. But I'm too lazy to reinstall it.

Edit: The OS 9 version is still listed on MS' site for download. So it would surprise me if they're not supporting it anymore.

Hey Wendy, we are not alone. Heaps of people are having the same problem.
Here are some links that proved to be useful.

I am using Mac Messenger 3 now and it works perfectly. Only problem is that the sounds are way too soft.

Seems like M$ people are non the wiser too.

On a side note, all my mac users friends are doing well with MSN.

Sigh....Oh well.

Cheers.

It sounds like Mac Messenger is the way to go. It seems to work better than MSN Messenger--but is that a surprise?

I read the links to the Apple boards. The emails from MS tech support were highly amusing. You need the latest version of Internet Explorer to run MSN Messenger because Messenger takes advantage of Explorer's security features. That had me rolling on the floor. The next part almost killed me. They say not to set your IE security settings too high. Isn't that wonderful?

This is an example of why I don't feed the MS animals. They bite.
