MSN Messenger

Hello everyone!

Well I finally bought my Mac Mini and I really like it! I just have one question; I love MSN Messenger and installed it on my Mac Mini as soon as I got back from the store. When I installed it, everytime I ran the program it would show three things: a MSN messnger icon in the dock (I understand why that is there), a white drive-shaped icon on the desktop (which I do no want to be there and am wondering what exactly it is and if I even need it if I already installed MSN Messenger), and inside that white drive-shaped thing was a "Disk Image." I don't know what this is, and was wondering if any of you long-time (well longer than me) users of Apple Computers could tell what it is? Thanks alot.

Also, my screen has a pink tint to it and green are shown really darkly... :S

A disk image is like an "imaginary disk" that's actually stored inside a file on your real disk (your hard drive, otherwise known as Macintosh HD). A lot of software you download comes on disk images. Usually what you want to do is drag the program icon from the disk image to your Applications folder on Macintosh HD. Then you can trash the disk image, and from then on, just run the application by double-clicking it inside its place in the Applications folder.

You may be able to fix your screen color issue by opening up System Preferences, going to Displays, clicking Color, and clicking Calibrate.

The mistake i was makign was moving the file into the appliocations folder by opening the hard rive and manually dragging it over. what you want to do is open the virtual drive and just drag it to the "applications" on the left. that worked for me.
