Set up note synching using an iCloud account on both your Mac and your iPhone. I had to manually copy the notes I wanted from the "On My iPhone" account to the "iCloud" account.

I simply create a Note on my iPhone, press Done. Open Notes on my MBP and after a few seconds the note I just created is there.

Not sure you really have to "do" anything?

Why would you answers a question like that, if you don't know how to answer just don't post anything..

This is really bad from apple, I don't like to use sync with iCloud, but it's the only way to sync notes, you create folders... in my iphone... in icloud... my previous notes wont sync to my mac, only the new ones i create... it just don't work..

But well, I suggest you email the notes to yourself in case anything goes wrong.

What I did was in iphone/settings/icloud select to sync notes

Go to my Mac/system preferences/icloud an select to sync notes

When you create a new note in the iphone and want to sync it to your mac, you have to be in the icloud account when you create it, otherwise it wont sync to the mac, it's just plain stupid from apple, but what can we do.

I had this issue, just emailed my notes to myself, copied them on my macbook and then just pasted them in new notes, deleted old ones, synced and now have zero issues....

One hiccup, not terrible.

iPhone Notes not in laptop Notes using Mountain Lion

Notes in iPhone after November 11 are not in Notes on my laptop which is running Mountain Lion. Had OneToOne session at Apple store and Apple staff had no answers. Is there any fix for this?

Notes are associated with an account. You can have iCloud notes now as well as google notes. Before iCloud, you had notes that were associated with your email and synced through iTunes to your device.

Notes work much like calendar now, it takes a little "playing" to understand how devices interact but once you see how it works' it makes sense.

The easiest way now is to use iCloud on all of your devices and things just "magically" happen. Though I do not agree with "magic", Apple did do a great job with making things work.

Actually I think it's the only way to sync. Technically they are treating it like how ActiveSync handles things with Exchange notes in Outlook - over the air via server-side tech. Apple just thinks that the elements work better as separate apps is the only real difference to compare the apps with Outlook.

I think overall that Apple is trying to reduce the stuff that iTunes syncs and limit that to "media" versus "information" feeling that iCloud is better suited for information.
