Holy sh**!!!

What did you do, combine every MBP battery? :p ... Just a thought, if it does that again, you might want to tell Apple...unless it's really that good of a battery, which in that case, keep it a secret or you could have some demanding MBP owners break in.

Mine always does that - about 1000 hours occasionally. It only lasts a few seconds after waking up from sleep though, before a more accurate reading is displayed.

the most mine ever says when that happens is like 7 hours. then it says about 4 and a half after waking up, which really means it has about three hours.

laptop battery life: something that always seems to suck.

How did you get your hard drives icon to change to what your computer is? Ha...I want an MBP for my HD icon.

Haha, nice. Mine did that before...took a screenshot but its on the OEM HD. Waiting for the enclosure to come and hopefully I can post it up.

I'd like to know as well how you changed the icon from a HD to a MBP?

I'm a little dissapointed there was no 1000 hour extended battery announced at MacWorld. :(

That coulda been the One More Thing!

Used to get up to 4 with my newly replaced battery. Now for some reason I am getting around 3.5hrs. (with no applications running and all energy settings at low)

Don't flatter yourself. This happens when the computer is still getting an accurate reading of the battery charge left. It happens to all Apple portables.

Both are 'real' pictures. The top is on my MacBook Pro, 15", rev a, 2.0 GHz. Everything was on max power saving, AirPort and Bluetooth off, with a brand new battery right after calibration. Screen on minimum brightness. It had been on battery for about 3 minutes at this point, I waited until it had settled down.

Second is my old 12" PowerBook, rev a, 867 MHz, same conditions.

edit: Whoops, didn't mean to in-line such big pics. Click on the new ones to see the full screen versions.

Haha! That ol' pickle. I get that from time to time on my PowerBook.

Now... can anyone explain why my iMac randomly turns itself on and stayed on during a mini powercut? :D

You mean after a power shortage it turns itself back on?
System prefs —» energy saver —» options —» unckeck "restart automatically after power failure" (assuming you have tiger) If not it should be similarly placed
