Wondering if anyone would be interested in seeing some more multi-touch gestures in Safari on the iPad? For example, I'd love to be able to two finger swipe right or left to move forward or backward, just as with the magic mouse. Anyone else interested in seeing this? And any other multi-touch suggestions? I'm going to submit the idea, but wanted to hear some feedback and any other suggestions. Thx guys

Yes! This would be so nice, its the biggest think I miss from surfing on my Macbook to surfing on my iPad.

Yes! I was sort of halfway expecting the two-finger swipe when I got my iPad, even though I know iPhone doesn't do that. I'm so used to it on my Macbook Pro.

But also, I've noticed that when I go back to my MBP, I keep wanting to touch Safari in order to go places.

I'm in major confusion now.

I think another useful gesture would be to have a double-tap in an upper corner to get to the top of a page or document, and a similar motion in the lower corner to get to the bottom quickly.

Two finger swipe is already used in Safari for moving around inside of text areas, and div's that have scroll bars.

But, yeah, I hear you. It would be nice to have some additional gestures for navigation, like next/back, or top/bottom of page.

Agreed! I'm wondering if they tried it, and it didn't work as well, so it was intentional left out....or was just an oversight. You know? The big push here is the touch capability...you'd think more gestures would have been implemented. I almost think they had to have tried it, but scrapped the idea. Who knows...I am def going to send the suggestion though!

Lol! I hear you! Just so you know, you can tap once on the black bar at the very top of the screen (where the time is) to scroll to the top of the page in safari. Not sure if you knew this? Works on the iPhone and iPod as well! Nothing to go to the bottom though...yet.

Sorry, I was referring to two finger swipe to move next/back in safari, as on the magic mouse and newer mbp's

Yeah, I understood. But I wanted to point out that Apple is already using that gesture for a different function. Maybe they'll change it, or have to do 3 finger swipe!

Actually I think I read something on macrumors the first weekend that iPad had been released that they somehow found a workaround for that on the iPad, unlike on the iPhone/iPod Touch. I can try and find the article. On the other hand though, I don't have an iPad (yet) and have only played around with it for a couple hours in the Apple store so you all would know better than me. :)

A workaround for what on the iPad? Sorry, don't really know what tour referring to. As far as two finger scrolling around diva and text fields, I haven't come across any websites which allow me to do this yet...
