Multi Display on Mac Mini

I know there is a matrox device that allows you to run a dual monitor setup on a mac mini, but is there any other way?

Is it possible to hook up 2 mac minis to run to run in sync and run 2 monitors?

Someone at macworld had a USB device that faked a video-card. I am waiting to hear more so I can run 2x23"!
