Hi,

I'm looking to buy 2 multifunction laser printers. The last one I purchased (Samsung) didn't work well with my Mac, and the one before that (Brother) was a terrible machine. So this time I'm looking for recommendations from apple users.

Both machines need to be able to print, copy, scan, and in addition either fax or have a 'scan to email' facility.

One machine needs to be color, the other can be black and white. The black and white one needs to be a laser printer because it is only used every 3 months, and ink-jet printers dry up (become blocked) during that duration.

My print volume is very low, perhaps 200 pages a year, so low cost desk-top units would fit the bill.

Thanks.

I'm surprised that you had problems with a Brother, because that's the unit I would recommend for low volume monochrome laser printing / scanning / etc. I can't comment on the scan/copy/fax with the Mac because we use the Canon for that, but it prints just fine from Mac, Linux, and Winders.

For color, the Canon MF8280 is a nice machine and seems to work fine with our Macs. It may seem like more machine than you need, but we got tired of the inkjet game and haven't regretted switching to laser.
