So I decided to give outlining a go in Pages on my iPad, and I've been unsuccessful in finding a way to use multi-level lists.

The only workaround I've found so far is to drag the indentation marker at each level I want to indent. Obviously that's not ideal, so I'm hoping I've missed something obvious.

Anyone know something I don't?

Up in the menu in portrait mode there is an icon that looks like and "i". Touch this and then, then touch the "List" panel. Tere are arrows (left and right) in the list menu which control outline level. This menu also controls outline style.

It is a huge PITA.

Yeah, thanks shaken. I found that too.

Not only is it a ridiculous PITA, but it's kind of a hacky multi-level list as I would generally expect a multi-level list to have different shaped bullets for each indentation, and this will use the same kind of bulleting throughout.

I guess we can only hope that they fix it or at least add a shortcut.

I kind of get the feeling that Pages and Keynote were rushed out the door. There are just so many things about them that are "un-apple".

I expect these to be updated in the next few months.

FYI, DataViz will be releasing Documents to go for iPad soon and in my experience Documents to go handles editing documents on a mobile much better. You don't loose change tracking, comments, formatting like you do on iPad Pages.

Sorry if this is a little off topic, but is there a word count in pages ?
