I've been in the app store after a long time away. I noticed Monopoly, and thought that would be a great game to have to play with other iPhone owners that I know.

But I guess you can only play multiplayer over a Wi-Fi router.

Are there any games that support multiplayer over the Edge or 3G network? That would be amazing. :D

Chess with Friends is multiplayer over Edge, 3G, and WiFi. It's essentially correspondence chess (IE: you make a move and hit submit, then your opponent at some points checks the game, makes a move, and submits it, then you check the app when you have time and make a move, etc.). It's really fun, and it's perfect for the iphone, because you can just whip it out on the bus or while you're waiting for someone and spend 30 seconds deciding your next move, and then you can get back to the game hours or days later. I usually have several games going at the same time.

Well done, and free!

Oh yeah, another one is "Live Poker" by Zynga.com. I'm not sure about EDGE, but I know it works over 3G or WiFi. On that you play Texas Hold'em poker against up to 9 other players at the same time. It's integrated with the Facebook version of the game, so you on your phone might be playing against people playing over Facebook. Also free, and also a good time.

Galcon works over 3g and edge, and it rocks!

Seconded.

This game really is hands down. If you like fast paced strategy online game with real players, this game is for you. It has a high replay value and will be the worthiest purchase of all. Just read the reviews, if only we could give it a 10 ;)
