does anyone know of any projects that involve bringing multi touch to desktop users?

usb trackpads exist but i'm assuming that they are incompatible with the multi touch software,

hell, i'd get an ipod touch if it doubled as a multitouch track pad.

this topic is certainly nothing new to the boards as speculations for an iMac touch are increasing.

besides the obvious technical difficulties, desktops just aren't good for continued, multi-hour touch use. try holding your arm up for around 5 minutes and do various finger exercises, i bet you wont last long.

personally, i dont really care for a touch screen iMac - i'd much rather have a redesigned Mighty Mouse.. ya konw.. something feasible.

you already can use an ipod touch as a wireless multi-touch trackpad....just jailbreak it and install "touchpad pro" it connects by vnsea and lets you move the mouse, scroll, even type on you mac from your ipod!!! Ahh the wonderfull world of jailbreaking....just visit www.ipodtouchfans.com for more info
