Multipage printing

I've done it before but I think I'm having a bad day, and cannot find the way to do it. Basically I wanna print some letters, each one taking up four pages each and then I'll tape the four pages together to make a bigger letter. Any help?

Golden rule: It would help tremendously if you told us what software you were using...

It sounds like what you want to do is called 'tiling'.

When you say letters, do you mean correspondence or letterforms e.g. A, B, C?

Letterform and Preview or Photoshop. Each letter is PDF'ed.

Don't think Preview can do tiling... Photoshop's print set-up is also fairly limited. It's a breeze from within Quark, Indesign or Acrobat Pro.

Assuming that you're printing on A4, why don't you open the PDFs in Photoshop, rasterise them to an A2 document at 450-600ppi, slice the A2 in quarters using guides and some overlaps, and then print each one out?

Yeah? Man I thought tiling would be a basic job in of all things Photoshop but meh. Anyways thanks for your help, I'll go fetch InDesign

The exact suggestion I was about to make . I use ISO paper sizes whenever I can for this very reason. US paper sizes are so weird and arbitrary, but most people don't even realize that it's not what everyone uses (sort of like metric and SI phobia).
